About Massage Therapy by Dyan
I have always been drawn to the practice of massage therapy and have a passion for massage and what it can do for the body. My massages are a blend of many techniques and are intended to provide you with a therapeutic, yet relaxing session. No matter which type of massage you request, I customize the treatment to you and your needs.
I studied massage therapy at The Soma Institute--the National School for Clinical Massage and graduated in 2001 with honors. Shortly thereafter, I became a faculty member. I teach Thai Massage and Anatomy for Thai Bodyworks School of Thai Massage, as well as Anatomy to students of Pilates.
With clinical massage as my foundation, I've expanded my education in both western and eastern techniques from various parts of the world and have recently studied in Asia and Central America. It is my goal to continue to pursue my love of massage and learning to bring new techniques to my clients.
I have experience dealing with a broad array of needs, including stress reduction, pain relief, relaxation, injury treatment and fertility issues. I also treat athletes looking to improve their performance and have worked with world-class professionals such as elite runners in the Chicago Marathon, NBA players, professional dancers and a variety of recreational athletes.
I believe that massage can also be used to strengthen the bonds between loved ones and therefore conduct classes in Infant Massage Instruction as well as Massage for Couples.
